This panel will explore how to manage daily privacy challenges using flexible staffing models. Institutions of all sizes are building privacy programs from scratch or attempting rapid maturation. In the current privacy skills market, that demands creative problem-solving. The 2020 pandemic accelerated the adoption of “gig economy” professionals in data privacy and protection. Currently, 35% to 55% of the privacy job marketplace are contract or fractional staff. Competition for full-time resources is higher than it has ever been. Many experienced privacy pros would rather move around as consultants rather than stay at one institution. These realities create opportunities for privacy program to customize their staffs through specialized fractional hiring. Speakers will unpack ways to supplement staffs based on business needs including budget constraints, globalization, retention, employment compliance, and the complexities around emerging labor laws.
